Taylor Lautner devotes himself to Stretch Armstrong movie

taylor-lautner-450x494Taylor Lautner has reportedly pulled out of a chance to play crimefighter Max Steel to devote himself to the upcoming Stretch Armstrong movie.

The Twilight hunk — rumored to be the highest-paid teen star in Hollywood — had signed up for both action roles but has now opted out of Max Steel, about a sports star-turned-secret agent, to focus on Stretch, new blockbuster based on the bendable action figure produced by toymakers Hasbro in the 1970s.

According to New York Magazine, Lautner ditched the part because toy manufacturer Mattel — which produces Max Steel figures — has not been as successful at the box offices as Hasbro — who, in addition to Steel, also spearheaded the Transformers and G.I. Joe film franchises.
