Well we may now have an answer in the form of Robbie Williams.

Cowell sasy that he ‘hasn’t made any commitments to anything yet’, but if he heads to the states, the show’s bosses reckon the Robster would be a great X Factor judge.

‘Robbie is a huge name so would naturally be a massive ratings hit,’ says a source.

‘Not only that, he is also straight-talking and comical.’

Robbie, 36, is touring with Take That until July, so will miss out on some of the auditions, but would be available for the judges’ houses and live shows.

‘We all understand that right now America is where Simon’s focus has to be,’ the insider tells the Daily Star.

‘There aren’t many people that can fill his shoes, but Robbie just might be able to do it.’

Both Rob and the lads have previously hinted that while they’re happy being a five-some they weren’t sure how long the arrangement would last. Now Gary has confirmed that TT are a four-piece in his eyes,

“Even moving forward, I know we’re back with Rob now but I still see our future as a four-piece band. We see Take That as a four-piece in general.” Despite the temporary nature of Take That’s current line-up Gary says the band is very happy, “We’re all in a fantastic place, we’re very happy. We’re in a great place with this album”

Williams was said to be moved by the plight of orphans in Haiti when he went on a recent charity visit to the earthquake-hit country.

‘I wanted to adopt straight away,’ says Robbie.

‘That’s the instant guilt thing you get when you first get to somewhere like that.

‘But I’ve got a few things I want to do before that happens. I’ll probably have a couple of my own first and then I’d like to adopt a couple too.’

Rob, 36, has already discussed his plans with partner Ayda Field, 31.

‘It’s something we’ve talked about,’ he tells the Sunday Mirror.

‘I think it’s on the horizon but I don’t know when.’

Williams has visited the country as an ambassador for UNICEF.

Williams has spent time with children that were affected by the earthquakes in January and was said to be visibly moved by the conditions that many have to now live in.

Williams said “I met children who were injured, who had been separated from their parents and were living in temporary shelters or on the streets. This earthquake hit children the hardest. The children are so vulnerable.”

He said: “They’re living day-to-day without the basic things they need and at risk of violence and abuse. I don’t know about you, but I think this is wrong and we need to put it right.”

The 36-year-old singer admitted he was outraged by the “risk of violence” which child refugees now face everyday.

Williams will also be launching a special challenge for Scocer Aid which is a star studded sports event , that will take place on June 6th and raises funds for UNICEF, the event will be called ‘Keep It Up For Soccer Aid.

Robbie is asking people to be sponsored for the number of ‘keepy-uppys’ – juggling a football with various parts of the body without letting it fall on the floor – they can do in aid of the organisation.

Speaking of the challenge, Robbie added: “It’s really simple, do as many sponsored keepy-uppys as you can to make a real difference to the lives of children.”

Other stars who have visited Haiti include Sean Penn, Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon, Demi Moore and Gerard Butler.

But it seems that now she is ready to return to her job of acting which will leave the household chores down to Williams.

A source said: “Ayda loved taking care of Robbie. But they aren’t a new couple any more and the shine of being holed up with Robbie and rattling around in a big house has rubbed off.”

“She needs something else to sink her teeth into. She isn’t happy sitting around doing nothing.”

Williams along with Take That are said to be doing a cover of the REM hit song Everybody hurts.

The single is being organised by X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

Insiders in the music industry have said that the single could prove to be the biggest selling single of all time.

The single will be the first time that William’s has sung with his old group since leaving in 1995 and devastating the hearts of fans at the time.

Gary Barlow, 39, Mark Owen, 37, Jason Orange, 39, and Howard Donald, 41, are said to already have agreed to do the cover of the REM classic.

A spokesperson for Williams has said

“He’s been approached.”

Last night an insider in the music industry said

“A Take That reunion would give this CD massive selling power and help it make loads of money for Haiti. There’s no animosity between the boys at all and, although they went their separate ways in the mid 90s, they never ruled out getting back in the recording studio at some point.”

“This would be a great opportunity for them to help out and it would be a real coup for Simon Cowell.”

Cowell has promised to release the single as soon as possible.

But it seems the love struck star could not wait that long and a source close to the star has told the Mirror.co.uk

“He just couldn’t help himself – he’s like an excitable puppy. He wanted to wait until midnight on New Year’s Eve to pop the question, but just couldn’t hang on. So he proposed at home on Tuesday night.”

“Despite all the previous speculation about them getting hitched Ayda was still very surprised.

“She was thrilled and said yes straight away.”

Williams also said that he wanted children soon saying

“That’s definitely on the agenda – little monkeys running around. It’s about time. I’ve had a good innings.”

And if you think that Field is just after his money , well Williams would disagree

“She digs me and I dig her. She knows who I am and I know who she is.

“I trust her 100 per cent and there isn’t even a glimmer of worry of her only liking me for all this singing malarkey.

“We don’t fall out, we have nothing to fall out about. We’re a good team.”

Williams says that he was able to overcome his fears when Field won over his father who is still a bachelor himself.

It now seems that Williams can not wait to settle down and marry Field even have children eventually

Williams said “We broke up about three times in the first year because of me not trusting and not knowing that I really needed this and really wanted it.”

“I will bolt at any sign of anything. And if there wasn’t one I’d make one up. With Ayda I kept looking for one. But she just kept on being this wonderful person.”

“My dad met her and as he was leaving he turned to me and said, ‘You’re in trouble there, son’ – as there was no reason to bolt. After a while I just saw what was there: A massive-hearted, lovely human being who wants to take care of me and I want to do the same for her.”

“In my song Won’t Do That To You I call her ‘My Swiss army girlfriend, my Swiss army wife’. The moment I sang that in the studio was the moment I committed myself to the relationship. I went into the recording booth a singleton and came out in a committed relationship with somebody I’m going to marry.”

Williams has also admitted that he now can’t wait to become a father himself, but he fears that he will not be a good dad.

Williams confessed

“Ayda wants to go for it straight away. But I want Ayda to myself for as long as I can because I’m selfish. It will happen, but it won’t be soon.”

News of the engagement had been circulating since remarks made by Williams in a radio interview in Australia

A spokesman for Williams has said that it was all just a joke, but later Williams mum Jan went on to radio 5 and said that Williams had been planning to ask her for about a week.

During her interview Jan said

“I don’t think it will be that far in the not-too-distant future, but that’s all I’m going to say on that.”

“I’m very excited. I’m really pleased. They’ve been together for nearly three years, so it’s about time.

“She’s a great mate, as well as a lover. She’s got all the qualities that he needs in a girl. It’s a lovely match.”

A spokesman has said

“We have no more comment on this apart from to confirm that they are not engaged.”

Williams asked Field to marry him during a radio interview in Australia on Thursday.

Some people have said that they think it was a joke but his mum is said to be thrilled by the news and insists that it is the real thing.

Jan also said that Williams had been planning to ask Field to marry him for over a week .

Speaking to BBC Radio 5live Jan said

“He wanted to do something different. She’s a lovely girl and I’m really pleased for them.

“They’ve been together for nearly three years so it’s about time. I think they’ll get married in the not-too-distant future.”

Williams was on the 2DayFM Kyle and Jackie O breakfast show in Sydney when he popped the question to Field and unsurprisingly she said yes.

Williams was doing the interview to promote his new single Reality Killed The Video Star.

The couple had been dating for two years now and had travelled to Australia together for Williams’ performance at the ARIA Australia Music awards which is like the UK’s Brits.

During the interview Williams asked Field to come and sit with him.

Radio presenter Jackie O then said to Williams

“Sydney has a bit of a reputation for proposals with celebrities.

“Any news you want to share?”

Williams then said to Field “Is there anyone you want to get married to?”

Field laughed and said “This is so awkward.”

Williams then asked “Will you marry me?”

Field replied “Yes, I’ll marry you.”

Field then asked “Where’s the ring?”

Presenter Jackie O lent Field a ‘froggy ring’ as their engagement ring.

Williams put the ring on Fields finger saying: “I love you so much.

“Would you be my betrothed ’til the end of time?”

Field answered “I would love to be your betrothed ’til the end of time.”

Jackie O said: “I can’t believe I’m witnessing this moment.”

Field then said to Williams “Thank you for my froggy ring!”

Co-presenter Kyle Sandilands said to Williams: “This is as special as the moment you pulled out a pube to give away on air 10 years ago.”

Field then asked Williams “Is that like the one you have in a box in the kitchen?

“Whoops, I was not supposed to talk about that!”

During the rest of the show Williams was congratulated by fans calling in .

Sanderilands told listeners who rang in: “He just got engaged on the air.”

One fan said: “That’s so, that’s so, congratulations!”

Williams replied “Thank you very much.”

So congrats to the happy couple.

Speaking to the Mirror Williams said

“Ayda had a psychic feeling she would end up in Australia, so I said let’s do it.

“I seriously, seriously am wanting to come down there and get a place.

“I want beach, outback, kangaroos in the garden, all in one place. The essentials are kangaroo, rainforest and a tan.

“I can’t wait to get there. And Dannii Minogue has promised: ‘It will be our mission to find you a place – I’m thinking Palm Beach.’”

The comments were made after Williams’ girlfriend Ayda Field said that she felt like they should move to the country to start a family.

Williams was in Australia yesterday at the ARIA Music Awards in Australia .

Alexandra Burke and Robbie Williams were both in the race for the top spot this week and surprisingly some might say it was X Factor winner Burke who got the spot.

Burke has sold 89,394 copies so far of her new single “Bad Boys” which means that her single is beating Williams’ own single “Bodies” 2:1 with Bodies only selling 42,751 copies.

According to a source when Burke first heard that she was going to be fighting Williams for the top spot Burke said

“He has a huge profile and an enormous publicity machine behind him. But talent will out. Bad Boys is an absolutely fantastic track and when she performed it on the X Factor, she left both the judges and audience on their feet. Robbie was a huge disappointment and received a backlash of criticism afterwards. He is sure to be devastated – he was gunning for No1.”

Williams will be performing his new single “Bodies” on the show on Sunday, which is a big thing for the singer as it will be his first UK performance in three years.

Speaking to The Sun Williams has said he would not be able to beat some of  the other contestants.

 ”I would definitely have entered The X Factor if I was a kid now. Of course I would have.

“I’d be excited and overwhelmed by the opportunity of getting through one of the rounds.

“It would be the only format to do that for someone like me.

“My voice isn’t as good as some of these people competing. I might not have got through because I am lucky if I can get through a song and I’ve sung it in key.

“These people can really f****** sing.”

Williams will be a mentor to the final 12 acts but he is worried that will have nothing to say and no advice to give to them.

“I’ve got to go and do mentoring and I haven’t got a clue what I am going to say,”

In an interview with GQ magazine Williams explains that he had an addition to prescription medication including sleeping pills and pain killers.

Williams said “There was a lot of awful stuff going on,”

“I found myself in the same f***ing place that I’ve found myself in periodically since I was 17.”

Williams claims that if he hadn’t of gone into rehab he would of died.

“I would have died… A heart attack, I think… The left arm was going numb, chest was contracting. That’s the sign, isn’t it, that you’re on your way out?”

Williams was last admitted to a clinic in 2007 in Arizona.

When asked if he was planning on rejoining Take That again Williams said

“It will happen. But not in the next 18 months, two years. There’s contracts to fulfil. And then I can do what I want.”

Williams felt bitter and angry after he quit the band years ago , admitting

“because regardless of what I felt at the end… I loved them and I didn’t think I was loved back”.

I can think of another star who was addicted to pain killers and sleeping pills and it didn’t turn out to well for Michael Jackson now did it?

He seems to be down to earth enough to know that all the fame doesn’t last forever and just as soon as you are in the spotlight someone can be just behind you to take over.

This year Williams has seen a threat to his success in a contender on the TV show X Factor , although Williams is unwilling to confess as to which contestant it is , there has been suspicion that it is 25 year old Essex boy Olly Murs.

Speaking to The Mirror Williams said.

“There’s this one guy on the X Factor who is amazing. I think he could take my place.

“I’ve got my eye on him. He’s dead.”

Murs sang a great version of Stevie Wonders Superstition last week on the show and the 25 year old believes he is destined for big things , reportedly saying.

“I don’t want to sound big-headed or anything but I’ve got something special. I’m not just someone who can sing.

“I can dance and sing. I see myself like JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, NE-YO or CHRIS BROWN.”

Williams has also admitted being afraid of Britain’s Got Talent runner up Susan Boyle saying

“I’m afraid for her. I seriously am. It will not take much to push her over the edge. Her head seems like a strange place to be.”

But due to Williams’ success to date I don’t think that he has cause for concern.

Williams has sold more albums in the UK than any other solo artist in history, he has sold 55million albums worldwide and has won so many Brit Awards that he has more than any other performer to date.

Williams will sing his new single Bodies on the first live X Factor final next month.

His new single Bodies is out on October 12 and his new album is out November 9 called Reality Killed The Video Star.

Williams obviously speaking in a lighthearted manner does though admit that he is in a state of nervousness over the forthcoming release

Speaking to Capital FM Williams said ‘I love reality TV, It’s the only thing I watch.

‘If this CD fails and Take That doesn’t do well, Strictly Come Dancing then straight to panto.’

It was clear that he was just messing around but speaking on another Radio station he also admitted that he is very nervous, time will tell if he was right to be so.

The album Reality Killed The Video Star is due for UK release on 9 November.

If it does fail and all other showbiz avenues are closed to him maybe he could become a spokesman for Weight watchers UK.
