A friend tells Now: ‘She hasn’t stopped touring all year and her body’s taken a battering. She’s on antibiotics, but still enjoys a drink. So her body doesn’t have chance to get better. The nights out and illnesses are taking their toll.’

Her love life is improving for her though ,she has now been with Sam Cooper for five months and is still going strong

A friend adds: ‘It’s a good job she has Sam. He’s remarkably level-headed, dependable and not at all showbiz-like. Without him, she’d have already hit the self-destruct button.’

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Allen said that Spears was a legend who is far better on stage than GaGa.

“You can not compare Britney with Lady GaGa,”

“Why? You are putting Lady Gaga at the same level of Britney Spears? I really cannot believe it.”

“I’m healthy now. When I was fat I’d find stories with people criticising me for being fat. It made it all worse. I’m just over the whole body thing.”

Allen is now the same size as an average women and she claims that she is happy with that

“I’m normal, I’m over beating myself up about it. Yes, I’ve lost weight, because my body shape has changed as I’ve got older.”

Her self confidence has been given a boost due to her dating builder Sam Cooper.

“I’m happy because I’m with someone who’d hate me to change anything about myself. I’ve still got a big bum and thighs, but they’re the parts of my body my boyfriend is always grabbing. I’ve lost that obsession and paranoia.”

Allen is set to pay a reported £1.3 million on a country house in a Cotswolds village.

The house is a five bedroom house that luckily is within walking distance of her dad Keith’s home.

For the last five months Allen has been dating builder Sam Cooper and she has already put her three bedroom flat in North London on the market for rent at £750 a week.
