We feel sorry for his current girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, and it seems we are not the only ones Clooneys dad has said that he can not wait to see Clooney wed again.

Nick Clooney appeared alongside his son on the show and said that he “yearned for the moment ” that his son would wed. Nick and his wife ( George’s mum) Nina have been married for 50 years so offer their son a good example.

George’s retort: “I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married, so I gave it a shot.”

It’s true in 1989 to 1993 Clooney was married to actress Talia Balsam.

Balsam still keeps busy and you may have seen her in No Strings Attached in which she played the role of Natalie Portman’s mum.

Clooney and Italian actress/model Canalis, 32, have been dating since 2009.

“There are some people who just don’t want to see me happy,” Canalis complained. “[George] reassures me all the time. He is very close. I feel more embraced than ever before. The idea of being so loved is overwhelming…George has given color back to my life.”

During the Piers Morgan interview, Clooney also praised his actor dad for teaching him the value of doing charity work, “to help look out for people that are less fortunate than you and to challenge people that are in power.”

Would Clooney consider entering politics?

“Honestly, my job is as good as they get,” he said. “I think that I am best suited as an advocate for issues and I look to people who are far smarter and far better at this than I am to lead.”

Not that the handsome star doesn’t suffer a bit for his work. Clooney recently contracted malaria while on a humanitarian visit to Sudan, but has since recovered.

“Even with malaria, it’s just good fun,” he joked, “I guess the mosquito in Juba looked at me and thought I was the bar.”

The couple is said to have split soon after the Academy Awards ceremony this year

A source tells Grazia magazine, “They’d been on the rocks since February, but held on to make it through awards season.”

“They decided to go to the Oscars ceremony in L.A. together, but they didn’t attend any showbiz after-parties together. George jetted straight out to Hawaii on his own for a few days later.”

But Clooney has come out recently to deny these claims according to a report in People Clooney has said “Once again the story is made up, spread to other outlets and now denied,”

The leading man added: “But don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.”

Bridges has already won the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for his role as Bad Blake in the film Crazy Heart.

The telethon is due to be on 22nd January and will raise funds to help the victims and survivors of the Earthquake which has left thousands dead.

Pattinson is said to be at the top of the wanted list as it is felt that if fans know that it is possible that Pattinson will pick up the phone to take your pledge if you are the lucky one.

A source for the event have revealed that the organizers are aiming high and want to have Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to taking part.

A source close to Stewart has said “She’d jump at the chance to do something to help.”

The telethon was reported to be aired on MTV but we have since found out that ABC, NBC, HBO and CNN have agreed to air it, too.

We hope that they make loads of money everyone dig in your pockets.

Clooney has admitted that he does see children in his future but maybe not his own.

Joking at the conference Clooney said

“I’m going to adopt some of Brad Pitt’s kids. I owe him a few,”

The feeling of being a Grandad was not helped by doing this movie in which he lends his voice to the role of Mr Fox.

Jason Schwartzman plays Mr Fox’s son and Clooney has said that having Schwartzman there made him feel like grandfather

“Just having Jason here next to me makes me feel like a father. He just got married, so I feel like a grandfather. I’m jumping right into it. I will bring lots of kids to the red carpet.”

The film is due for release in America on November 25th.
