Boyzone star Stephen Gately who died on Saturday may have choked to death on his own vomit.

Reports have come out claiming that the stars family have been told it is likely Gately had too much drink after a night of partying and had vomited in his sleep and choked on it.

Gately’s body was found on Saturday by life partner Andrew Cowles.

A source close to the pair have said that Cowles tired tirelessly to revive Gately before phoning for help.

“Andy said he screamed, ‘Wake up! Wake up!’ at him. He also tried mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

“But doctors later confirmed Stephen’s lungs had filled with fluid. There was nothing Andy could have done. He’d drowned and asphyxiated.”

Investigators have dismissed foul play but are still looking at the young stars sudden death.

A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow Tuesday 13th October.

A police source has reported to the media that

“Stephen was discovered in a strange position. He was squatting down on the sofa almost in a praying position… The rest is a mystery. There were no signs of violence or evidence of suicide or any obvious evidence pointing to another probable cause of death, like drug use. But we’re unable to shed any light on what’s happened until after a post mortem.”

The other members for Boyzone have flown out to Majorca to pay respects to Gately the band released a statement saying

“We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother.

“We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were looking forward to many more.

“Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our loves and those of the many friends he had all over the world.

“We love you and will miss you forever Steo.”
