Paramount studios have revealed the release date for the upcoming sequel to the Star Trek movie which was a huge success in 2009.

On Monday it was revealed that the sequel would open in cinemas on June 29th.

The Enterprise cast members will include Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, and Simon Pegg .

Abrahams who directed the first movie is expected to return for the sequel.

The production is expected to begin later this year.
