Simon Monjacks’ last interview
Weeks before his death Simon Monjack foretold his own death in an interview with the Sunday Mirror.
Monjack said that he couldn’t live without Brittany.
During the interview Monjack said “I’m ill. I don’t know how much time I’ve got left.
Brittany was my life – it’s the biggest tragedy I could ever imagine. I don’t feel I can live without her.”
“We were going to have children and move to New York next year.”
“The night before she died we were making our baby names. If it was a boy it would be Oliver and if it was a girl it was going to be Sophie. Then the next day she died of cardiac arrest in my arms. Her mum was on the phone to 911. Literally I was holding her and giving her CPR and she went and I kissed her goodbye.”
“It’s really hard. Brittany meant everything to me.”
Monjack died last weekend in the bedroom where Clueless star Brittany had died in December.
A coroner ruled her death was an accident caused by pneumonia but said multiple drug intoxication was a factor.
Monjack – who remained in the Hollywood Hills mansion the couple shared with Brittany’s mother Sharon – had suffered regular seizures, starting three months before Brittany’s death.
The couple had been married for two-and-a-half years after meeting at a Hollywood party.
His agent Roger Neal dismissed rumours he would deliberately take an overdose, saying: “He was too full of life, had too much going on and was too busy.”
