Robbie Williams has proposed to his girlfriend Ayda Field live on air during an Australian radio interview .

Williams was on the 2DayFM Kyle and Jackie O breakfast show in Sydney when he popped the question to Field and unsurprisingly she said yes.

Williams was doing the interview to promote his new single Reality Killed The Video Star.

The couple had been dating for two years now and had travelled to Australia together for Williams’ performance at the ARIA Australia Music awards which is like the UK’s Brits.

During the interview Williams asked Field to come and sit with him.

Radio presenter Jackie O then said to Williams

“Sydney has a bit of a reputation for proposals with celebrities.

“Any news you want to share?”

Williams then said to Field “Is there anyone you want to get married to?”

Field laughed and said “This is so awkward.”

Williams then asked “Will you marry me?”

Field replied “Yes, I’ll marry you.”

Field then asked “Where’s the ring?”

Presenter Jackie O lent Field a ‘froggy ring’ as their engagement ring.

Williams put the ring on Fields finger saying: “I love you so much.

“Would you be my betrothed ’til the end of time?”

Field answered “I would love to be your betrothed ’til the end of time.”

Jackie O said: “I can’t believe I’m witnessing this moment.”

Field then said to Williams “Thank you for my froggy ring!”

Co-presenter Kyle Sandilands said to Williams: “This is as special as the moment you pulled out a pube to give away on air 10 years ago.”

Field then asked Williams “Is that like the one you have in a box in the kitchen?

“Whoops, I was not supposed to talk about that!”

During the rest of the show Williams was congratulated by fans calling in .

Sanderilands told listeners who rang in: “He just got engaged on the air.”

One fan said: “That’s so, that’s so, congratulations!”

Williams replied “Thank you very much.”

So congrats to the happy couple.
