George Clooney has reportedly ended his relationship with Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, the couple had been dating since July 2009 and there was talk of the relationship getting serious at the end of 2009, but a spokesperson for Clooney denied reports of an engagement in November 2009.

The couple is said to have split soon after the Academy Awards ceremony this year

A source tells Grazia magazine, “They’d been on the rocks since February, but held on to make it through awards season.”

“They decided to go to the Oscars ceremony in L.A. together, but they didn’t attend any showbiz after-parties together. George jetted straight out to Hawaii on his own for a few days later.”

But Clooney has come out recently to deny these claims according to a report in People Clooney has said “Once again the story is made up, spread to other outlets and now denied,”

The leading man added: “But don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.”
