Cheryl Cole broken hearted by Haiti
Cheryl Cole has admitted that she was overjoyed when Simon Cowell asked her to sing on the cover version of REM’s Everybody Hurts a charity song to raise funds for the victims of the Haiti Earthquake.
Cole joined many other big stars such as Kylie Minogue, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey and Jon Bon Jovi.
Cole said “Simon asked me and I didn’t hesitate in saying yes.”
“First and foremost, the cause was what struck me as the most important part. The fact it is the most amazing line-up and such a legendary song makes it more special.”
“I think the plight of Haiti is so important. To see anyone suffer so much and those heart-breaking images are enough to move anyone to want to help.”
Another X Factor star agreed to appear on the single , Alexandra Burke has said that she wasn’t surprised when Simon Cowell announced that he was doing a single.
Burke said “I agreed in a beat. Simon has a big heart and he always steps up when it matters.”
“Recording was amazing – I will never forget it. It was an incredibly emotional feeling.”
