After a major earthquake shock the island of Haiti on Tuesday 12th January 2010 leaving thousands feared dead some stars were very quick to offer support.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were among the first to offer support pledging to help as many victims as they can.

The Hollywood couple have released a statement saying

“We are devastated by the news from Haiti. We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”

Wyclef Jean is already heading the collection of efforts, following the 7.0 magnitude quake .

Wyclef told ET about what was going on

“I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in [capital] Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now.”
