Singer Amy Winehouse is reported to be spending New Year’s Eve in hospital.

This comes after friends and family of the star pleaded with her to get help due to her drinking her way through Christmas alone while at the same time having a chest infection.

A source said: “Amy is in a bit of a state at the moment, she’s feeling very sad and lonely. She is also extremely emotional. She’s spent a lot of time over Christmas at home on her own drinking.”

“Amy’s been battling an acute chest infection for weeks and it’s really starting to take a toll on her health.”

“Amy has wound herself up into such a state she knows her best place for her is in the hospital. She needs to dry out and stop drinking.”

Friends think that Winehouse willl isten to them as Winehouse has said that she wants to get her life back on track.

But things took a bit of a set back recently

“The last week has been a massive setback for Amy who was really turning a corner. Everyone in her camp is shocked by what has happened.”

“But their main concern is making sure she feels better. Then she can throw herself into her music.”

“The new year isn’t getting off to the best start but Amy is determined and she’ll keep looking forward.”
